Is it any wonder their hopelessness reaches such levels that they feel their only escape is through death? In spite of the military's brainwashing, some have become aware of the truth and have lost faith in the rightness of Bush's "cause" in Iraq.

They are subjected to constant, unending and unrelenting knowledge of imminent, gruesome death from an enemy they cannot see, cannot identify, cannot face; they are subjected to sights no one should have to see - other human beings literally blown into scattered pieces of flesh, bone, intestines, brains. They see piles of corpses bloated, covered with flies and maggots, emitting an unbelievable stench.

They see hatred in the faces of people they thought would welcome them as liberators. Is it any wonder they feel trapped in a hopeless situation? Even when their time is up they know Bush can send them back for a second and a third tour of duty.

AlterNet: Divine Strake countdown

Possibly an alternative to nukes on Iran's underground nuclear facilities?? Still pre-emptive war. Several of the weapons have been named Divine so&so. Does this indicate that Bush believes his attack on Iraq is Divinely ordained? Ofcourse it does! The fool thinks he is acting on God's orders.

Divine Strake countdown

Look out for more terrorist attacks, either by Muslim terrorists or otherwise. Bush needs something to unify the people behind him again and support the war.

SFGate: Chips down, Bush prepares a Hail Mary bet

Would Bush Dare? Ofcourse He would!!
The original article can be found on here:

Chips down, Bush prepares a Hail Mary bet
Mark Morford

It's just like playing blackjack in Vegas.
Invariably, sitting right next to you is some guy, eyes shifty and body
twitchy and making weird sounds with his mouth and smelling vaguely of
sawdust and horse manure and dead dreams, with a huge pile of chips he is
quickly turning into a very small pile of chips.
He is suffering. He is playing terribly, grumbling, sneering at the
dealer, talking to the cards like they were his personal slutty harem,
complaining to his very angry God who is apparently no longer coming
through for him. He is getting desperate. He is sweating, glancing around,
wondering where all his drunken fraternity friends scurried off to.
Soon he is down to his last chips. He makes one final stab, but his final
bet tanks. He is out, the pile is gone.
He then does what every miserable, lunkheaded gambler does at this point:
In a fit of alcoholic rage and demonic encouragement, he says, "Screw it"
-- and digs into his pocket, pulls out his last remaining crumpled $1,000
bill and slaps it down on the table in one big final gesture meant to turn
his fortunes around all at once, damn the wife at home and forget a decent
meal and forget every ironclad rule of gambling because damn it the gods
owe him and he's long overdue for a change in fortune. Yes. Right. Sure he
Sure enough, the lug loses his big Hail Mary bet. He is broke. He cannot
believe it. He curses the table, curses the whore cards, swears at the
dealer for not treating him better, slams the rest of his drink and his
face contorts and his hands shake and he stumbles off into the night,
railing against his lousy luck, the gods, all of humanity. Same ol'
situation, happening all over Vegas. And, of course, Washington, D.C.
Now, here he is, sitting right next to all the other countries at the Big
Table, representing America, it's little Dubya Bush, stewing in his own
juices, his poll numbers hovering right near Nixon levels, mumbling to
himself, smelling vaguely of sawdust and horse manure and dead Social
Security overhaul plans.
He is pockmarked by scandal, buffeted by storms of disapproval and
infighting and nascent impeachment. He authorized the leak of classified
security information merely to smear an Iraq war critic, he lied about WMD
and lied about Saddam and lied about making the United States safer and
lied about, well, just about everything, on top of launching the worst and
most violent and most expensive, unwinnable war since Vietnam.
His pile of betting capital is down to a tiny lump, nothing like back when
he had the table rigged and all the pit bosses worked for him and the pile
was as big as a roomful of Texas cow pies. But now, fortune is frowning.
In fact, fortune is white-hot furious at being so viciously molested, spit
upon, raped lo these many years. The truth is coming out: Bush has now
lost far, far more bets than he ever won.
What's to be done? Why, do what any grumbling, furious, confused,
underqualified alcoholic gambler does: reach down deep and say, "To hell
with the nation and to hell with the odds and to hell with the rest of the
planet," and pull out one more desperate, crumpled war from deep in your
pants, slap it on the table and hear the world moan.
But this time, try to make it serious. Do not rule out the use of tactical
nuclear weapons. Do not rule out another massive air strike, ground
troops, special forces, a strategy so intense it makes Iraq look like a
jog in the park. Think of yourself as creating a masterful legacy, going
down in history as the guy who "saved" the world from Iran's nukes while
protecting American oil interests. Yes? Can you smell the oily sanctimony
in the air? Is God speaking to you again, telling you to damn the
torpedoes and kill more Muslims? You are the chosen one, after all.
Sound far-fetched? Don't think even Bush could be capable of using nukes
to slap Iran? Perish the thought. All reports from underground White House
sources -- most notably by way of Sy Hersh's horrifying report in a recent
New Yorker -- indicate that Dubya and his remaining team of war-happy
flying monkeys have been secretly laying out plans to attack Iran for
months, possibly including the use of tactical nuclear weapons to get at
those deep Iranian bunkers, all because Iran just celebrated its entrance
into the world's "nuclear club" by finally enriching some uranium for the
first time. Cookies all around!
No matter that most analysts say that Iran is far from being a true
threat, that a nuclear Iran is at least a good decade away, if not longer.
No matter that 10 years is a good long time to work on ways to force Iran
out of the game -- via negotiation, diplomacy, sanctions -- without
unleashing another river of never-ending violence.
With Bush in power, there is no waiting. There is no thought of avoiding
another hideous war at all costs. To the Bush hawks, diplomacy is a failed
joke. Negotiation is for intellectuals and tofu pacifists. In the Dubya
worldview, the planet is a roiling cauldron of nasty threats, crammed with
terrorists and hateful Muslims and foreign demons suddenly growling on our
doorstep when, curiously, they really weren't there before he stumbled
into power. Amazing how that works.
It is now seven months before what could be a radically influential
congressional election, a vote that could very well give power back to the
Democrats, who will (with any luck) waste no time launching a number of
long-overdue investigations into Bush's failed war and the various
scandals and lies and fiscal abuses that led us all here.
For Dubya, now is the time. One last, desperate gamble. Slam that last
drink, scrunch up your face, screw the rules and let the bombs fly. What,
you don't think he could do it? Don't think a nuclear attack on Iran is
possible? You haven't looked into the tiny, ink-black eyes of Dick Cheney
lately. You haven't seen Rumsfeld's arrogant sneer, seen Bush looking
confused and lost, wondering where all his "capital" went, desperately
hunting for a legacy and finding only irresponsibility and
self-righteousness and death.
But hell, as we already know, that's good enough for him.

HORRID: GIs with missing faces and gaping wounds!

Some will condemn these photos as "meat" photos and protest that the American sensibilities should not be subjected to these horrors. ....................................

I say the American public needs to know what the numbers mean - X number of troops injured - and they are not just NUMBERS, they are real human beings who have suffered trauma, some horrific as in these photos. These are America's sons and daughters who suffer for an illegal war of conquest and American Imperialism by a corrupt government that no longer serves the people. ...............................

If Americans truly realized what X number of injured means, perhaps they would not so readily flip the TV channel to watch their favorite sit-com. More need to get off their dead butts and apathetic keisters and join the anti-war protests, to call, write and email their legislators, to RAISE HELL! ......................................

Incidentally, the photo published by the Aztlan of an alleged soldier with his arm burned off and burns on the body was originally published in a photo gallery of Iraqis civilian maimed and wounded. That gallery showed the same victim in shots taken from different angles and the background seemed to be an Iraqi hospital. .......................................

The other photos cannot be verified as American wounded. Aztlan is a pro-Mexican, anti-American, anti-Semite radical group that wants to re-take parts of the US for Mexico AND DRIVE THE WHITE PEOPLE OUT.

America\"s Brutal Tactics

Brutal, vicious, illegal tactics

Original article is at:

CHUCKMANMonday, Apr. 03, 2006 at 9:07 AM

April 1, 2006

John Chuckman

Naturally enough, few details of what American troops do in Iraq and Afghanistan reach the nation's television screens, the main source of news for most Americans. American television takes the approach of the New York Times when it refers to professional soldiers as GIs, as though they were humble mechanics and bricklayers of America drafted into the titanic struggle against Hitler and Tojo.

But if you are genuinely interested in discovering the truth, there are plenty of sources for first-hand information. And anyone taking a little time to search through some of these comes away with a sick feeling.

From several ex-soldiers comes a vivid image of America's house-to-house methods of searching for "insurgents." A small block of C-4 plastique is fixed to the front door of a house, the door is blown in, and several armored giants rush through the shock and smoke with their automatic weapons at the ready. Women and children are held to one side at gunpoint, while any men are taken roughly for questioning. In most cases, the men have nothing worthwhile to say, but they and other members of their families are left with a terrifying experience they will never forget.

These violent procedures have been repeated thousands of times, both in Iraq and in the mountain villages of Afghanistan. Could this be part of what Condoleezza Rice meant when she said recently in Britain that despite thousands of tactical mistakes, America's basic strategy was sound? Can you imagine her saying the same thing if Washington-area police blew her door down and stormed into her home in Chevy Chase or whatever other exclusive area she lives, perhaps looking for drug dealers or murderers, suspecting her home because she is black?

Another aspect of America's crude tactics has been their way of responding to periodic mortar fire. The American forces use a high-tech radar gizmo that tracks the path of such shells supposedly to permit accurate return fire by artillery. Unfortunately the gizmo often does not work properly, and even when it does operate well, the tactics of mobile guerillas firing a shell from a truck or car and driving away leave the data of the gizmo useless. Well, not completely useless, because American artillery still responds. It's just that all they hit are innocent residences or businesses.

The trigger-happy nature of Americans at check points is a well-established fact. These boys, many of them having joined up for benefits like money for college, do not want to be in these places, and they are irritated by the strange tongues and cultures and the blazing heat and sandstorms. They simply shoot first and ask questions after. I suppose this tactic might have been appropriate on the Eastern Front in World War II, but it is totally unsuited to a place you are occupying after having invaded, a place where the overwhelming majority of people with which you interact are just ordinary people going about their lives.

There have been dozens of pictures on the Internet of whole families obliterated in their cars by American soldiers. Children have been pumped full of holes. A kidnapped Italian journalist almost lost her life on her short journey back to freedom. The brave Italian secret service agent who had secured her freedom and was accompanying her to freedom was pumped full of holes. Yet this car and its contents were well known and had been identified to American forces.

It is extremely unlikely this was an error, the Italian journalist being someone hated by American occupation authorities for her critical stories. Such a number of unarmed journalists have been shot by American troops that the idea of the accidents of war is not credible. Of course, the recent revelation in Britain that Bush actually discussed bombing offices of Aljazeera adds another dimension to these events.

A number of British soldiers, Britain's pathetic Blair being America's only true ally in the phony coalition America's press never fails to name, have gone on record about American tactics. These include several senior officers, an unprecedented criticism of an ally during war. What they have said to the press is that American tactics are brutal and thoughtless, almost certain in the long run to produce more enemies than friends. Few forces in the world have more genuine experience than Britain's after decades in Northern Ireland, yet all their advice is treated with contempt by arrogant American commanders and politicians.

It seems both public and press have forgotten the words of Donald Rumsfeld not long after the U.S. triumphed in Afghanistan, the words being among the most shameful in American history and certainly ranking with anything a dread figure like Reinhard Heydrich uttered. On what to do with the thousands of prisoners taken in the invasion, Rumsfeld publicly stated they should be killed or walled away forever. It does appear he was taken at his word, for thousands of prisoners disappeared around the time. There are many eye-witness reports - a documentary film was made by a Scots director - about Afghan prisoners having been taken into the desert in trucks to suffocate in the blazing heat. American soldiers, if they didn't actively help, just stood around and let it happen.

In the early part of the invasion of Afghanistan, tens of thousands of emergency de-hydrated food packets were dropped by American planes in some of the same areas that cluster bombs were being dropped. As pictures on the Internet testify, the bomblet canisters (pressure-sensitive cans packed with something like razor wire and high explosive) and the food packages were virtually the same optical yellow color. Imagine how many hungry peasants and children were attracted to these deadly areas by the food packets, only to be torn apart?

Bad publicity all over the world did stop the Pentagon's grotesque practice, but the question of using cluster bombs near civilian populations remains. It was done both in Afghanistan and Iraq. The brave journalists of Aljazeera took dozens of pictures of what these bombs did to children in Iraq, their publication providing one of the reasons for the Pentagon's and Bush's intense hatred of the network.

The revelations about the behavior of American soldiers in Abu Ghraib prison are well known, although the last round of abuse and torture pictures released did not include the worst stuff that American Senators saw in closed session a while back. It's almost as though the "tamer" stuff was released to defuse demands for more information. America's great investigative journalist Seymour Hersh has said the worst stuff included boys being raped by American soldiers.

How many senior officers or officials have paid for these horrors that absolutely had to be known to them? The answer is none. What did Lieutenant Calley and Captain Medina suffer for the mass murder and rape of women and children in Vietnam a few decades ago? Not much, and their seniors nothing at all.

Of course we know from many sources including amateur plane spotters and flight records that America runs a gigantic secret prison system. Sources in Europe say that 14,000 are held in Iraq alone. There are also secret prisons in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, and at Guantanamo. All of these prisoners are held with no legal rights whatever, just as though they had disappeared into Stalin's Gulag.

In most cases the prisoners are simply people who fought Americans in their invasions of two lands. Since when do we do this to the fighters who oppose us in war? Americans themselves in the past have joined foreign wars as idealists or as mercenaries. This happened in South Africa, various African anti-colonial wars, Central America, South America, Indo-China, Spain, and other places. It's an old tradition going back to Lafayette and Pulaski in the American Revolutionary War. The men, and boys, America now holds with no rights were doing no more than what tens of thousands of Americans and others have done previously.

As I have written before, if you want the rule of law, you cannot stand outside the law and claim its moral support. What America is doing in its "war on terror" is little more than freshened-up fascism. It wants a pipeline through Afghanistan and a subservient government in Iraq, and it dresses up the brutal tactics used to achieve these goals as a war on terror.

Americans Do Not Want to Hear About the War or See the Reality of It.

My friend, Professor Bob, is anti-war. He can produce some fine rhetoric against war. He doesn't want to view any photos or videos about the war as they are too distressing. Others decline to view "meat" news or even read graphic news. But what do they DO about their anti-war stand. NOTHING! Talk, just talk. Perhaps if more American saw a little "meat", some of the horrendous destruction, they might be distressed enough to take action.
