US military deaths in Iraq at 3,958

As of Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at least 3,958 members of thehave died since the beginning of the Iraq war in March 2003, according to an Associated Press count. The figure includes eight military civilians. At least 3,220 died as a result of hostile action, according to the military's numbers.
The AP count is four higher than the Defense Department's tally, last updated Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
The British military has reported 174 deaths;, 33; , 18; , 21; , 13; , 11; , seven; , five; , four; , three; , , , , two each; and , , , , one death each.
The latest deaths reported by the military:
• A soldier died Friday in Tamim province from injuries sustained from an explosive.
• Four soldiers were killed Friday in Baghdad by an explosive.
